#7: What Makes a Great Speaker?

Season #2

SHOWNOTES

This episode comes with a slight caveat, because I have been doing this for a very long time. I've also hosted many different events ranging from hosting as a speaker, to putting together a well-being retreat, training the Olympics MC Team, hosting Dubai Rugby 7s for 20 years and the World Beach Soccer, World Health & Beauty Conference, speaking in Metaverse events. Not forgetting hosting rock concerts and hypnosis shows. So I know what works and what doesn't work with an audience.

But I also realise that there are tons of other speakers who have their own significant bit of charm that makes it work for them. Think of speakers like being rock singers or a rock band.

In fact, when you're delivering a keynote, it's not that different to delivering a concert. So you've got your greatest hits and new material and you got to tailor-make it for the audience in front of you and you want to have it by the end of your keynote a round of applause and if they stand up and cheer, that's even better.

Although it's not always guaranteed or appropriate depending on the speaking event that's you're going to.

So, have a listen, cherry pick the best bits to make it work.
